Where your soundproof cabin comes from
How sustainable is the production of a STUDIOBOX? Where do the raw materials come from? Where do the processed materials come from? Under what conditions are they produced? How much does Europe play a role here? What about environmental compatibility?
We know from observing the market: A lot is claimed, paper doesn´t blush and a seal of quality is quickly invented. So we, the STUDIOBOX team, wanted to know exactly what we were talking about:
What are we actually processing?
The research project with the Fraunhofer Institute in 2024, in which our ROSI biological sleep and concentration box was developed, offered us the ideal opportunity. For the purpose of comparison as well as in terms of a credible sustainability concept for the new cabin, an analysis of the classic STUDIOBOX had to be carried out in advance.

Analysis of all individual parts
Weeks of research into proof of origin were the order of the day. Suppliers were questioned, data sheets studied, manufacturers contacted by e-mail or telephone, kilometre lists for delivery by truck, train etc. were drawn up. That means: Every single component down to the smallest bar and screw was measured, weighed, analysed.
The data was collected in the ‘Department for Holistic Balancing’ at IBP Fraunhofer in Stuttgart, checked and supplemented with the researchers' own database knowledge. All the information was then evaluated by Fraunhofer using specially developed software.
The box with the short distances
The results of the research also amazed us: whether it was solid wood, fibreboard, seals, fittings, window glass, insulating material etc.. - everything was verifiably from Europe, starting with the raw material, some of which even travelled very short distances to our joinery. Many things (e.g. spruce wood etc.) come from Austria, the glass from Italy, seals & aluminium from Germany, the steel for the door handle from England etc.
Even the base material of the light grey acoustic fabric of the PROFESSIONAL and PREMIUM models comes from Europe. All processing steps (weaving, colouring, cutting) are also carried out here - in the Swabian Alb (GER) & Vorarlberg (AUT).
Conclusion: Not a single part that is transported across the globe. STUDIOBOX thus guarantees, as witnessed by Fraunhofer, not only the best quality but also purely European origin and added value. This is what we stand for with our name.
